Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
SaskInventory is a Canadian company. We handle your information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: your name, email address, company name and the role assigned to you within your company's workspace.
Business data you enter: inventory, equipment, locations, suppliers, documents, maintenance records and any custom fields your company defines. This data belongs to your company — we process it on your behalf.
Billing information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Technical information: IP address (stored only as a one-way hash for abuse prevention on public forms), browser type, device type, and pages visited.
2. How We Use Your Information
•To provide, operate and secure the SaskInventory service.
•To authenticate users and enforce the permissions your administrators configure.
•To send service-related messages such as low-stock alerts, maintenance reminders and account notices.
•To process subscription payments and manage plan entitlements.
•To detect, prevent and investigate abuse, fraud or security incidents.
•To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or share your business data with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Data Separation and Access Control
Every record in SaskInventory is scoped to the company that created it and is enforced at the database level. Your company's data is not visible to any other customer.
Within your company, your administrators control which users can view or change what. We access your business data only when it is necessary to provide support you have requested, to maintain the service, or where required by law.
4. Service Providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service, including cloud hosting and database infrastructure, Stripe for payment processing, and email delivery for account and alert messages. Each provider only receives the information required to perform its function.
If you connect an optional integration (for example Shopify, Square, Google Sheets or Slack), data is exchanged with that service according to the permissions you grant, and you can disconnect it at any time.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences such as theme and view settings. These are required for the application to work.
We use Google analytics and advertising tags on our public marketing pages to understand how visitors find us and to measure advertising. You can block these using your browser settings or an ad-blocking extension without affecting your ability to use the application.
6. Data Retention
We retain your company's data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your data remains available during any remaining paid period and is then scheduled for deletion.
You may request export or deletion of your company's data at any time by contacting us. Some records may be retained longer where required for legal, tax or accounting obligations.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on managed infrastructure with encryption at rest. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are salted and hashed.
Sensitive actions such as stock adjustments, document approvals and permission changes are recorded in an audit trail visible to your administrators.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify affected customers and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy in a portable format, or ask us to delete it — subject to any legal retention obligations.
To make a request, email support@saskinventory.ca. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Children
SaskInventory is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or by an in-app notice before they take effect, and the "last updated" date above will change.
